Searching Multiple Categories

To search for documents in multiple categories that have common indexes:

  1. At the top of the Search page, click Multi Category.
  2. From the Category list, select the first category and then click Add/Remove

    Alternatively, click the All link to search across all categories, or the Inbox link to search across all Inbox-enabled categories.

    Your search display shows the indexes for the selected category.

  3. Add further categories as described in Step 2.

    The indexes displayed change to those that are common across your selected categories.

    To remove a category from your search list, select the category name in the Category list and then click Add/Remove

  4. Enter your search criteria in the index fields as described in Specifying Search Criteria.

    Depending on how Transform Content Center has been configured, it might be possible to conduct a search without entering any index values. However, if a large number of documents are stored under the categories, leaving all the fields blank can lead to slow response times in returning the results of the search.

    To clear the form, click Reset. This removes all the information from the index fields.

  5. Click Search.
